Those of you who know me know that I love a bargain! Wherever I can I will buy something second hand, paint it and make it new![]()
Whenever I see an old piece of furniture I dont rubbish I see potential![]()
For a few months I was in search of an old style buffet/side table to go in our lounge room when it was finished being renovated, I searched for months with no luck. Until one day I stopped by the Salvos one afternoon on the way home from a client meeting, I even hesitated stopping, well Im glad I did because I found the perfect side table, now anyone would have seen it as a icky brown piece of junk, but I fell in love!
I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it, I had envisioned a french provincial style, two tone, antique looking finish.
I follow some great DIY blogs and they had some great tips on re-painting old furniture (Classy Clutter, Show & Tell, Better After)
Armed with some sand paper and a few cans of spray paint I got to work on my master piece.
I am super thrilled with how it turned out!! It has also been featured in a couple of my Bridal expos![]()
Here are some before and after pics![]()

I spray painted the body and draws a matte white then went over all the details with a piece of sand paper to give the Antique/worn effect. I then used a Satin black spray paint for the top and handles. It turned out exactly how I pictured it![]()
